I love to write. Sometimes I go to bed writing blog posts in my mind. By the time I get up in the morning I've forgotten what I "wrote" and have to try to reconstruct those delightful phrases and sparkling paragraphs. I rarely can.For a long time I thought I was a reasonably good writer. In an effort to become a better writer I began reading more about writing. It didn't take long to realize I have a long way to go before I will be a good writer. It takes practice and discipline to become a good writer. And just at the moment I lack discipline.
So I accept the Family History Writing Challenge as posted at The Armchair Genealogist. This challenge will be good for me. I can write at least 250 words every single day in February. That's one typewritten page. Easy, right? (So why haven't I been doing it?)
This is the first year I've participated but I understand that we will receive ideas, suggestions, and encouragement along the way. It's open to anyone who wants to write. Maybe you'd like to accept the challenge and join us?

Nancy, I had good luck with the FHWC last year. I must admit that I didn't get too far before I realized how many "blank" spots I had in my research. So it was very valuable to me in realizing that I didn't have the whole story to write!
