I hope your Isaac's wife lived near family who helped her while he was away. What a service our ancestors did by serving when called!Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12136584654825212359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892358786681938797.post-75222165200098317082020-10-08T15:26:48.451-04:002020-10-08T15:26:48.451-04:00I too had ancestors that served in such units. Brough offered his State militia for 100-day regiments. When Isaac received the call to duty on April 25, he was a 33-year old farmer in the throes of spring planting with a pregnant wife and four children. One can only imagine the implications this call had on his family.John VMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17974699812406262657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892358786681938797.post-3155584483858493632013-07-29T16:40:10.688-04:002013-07-29T16:40:10.688-04:00What an interesting piece of history. He was often listed as a deserter. And then he enlisted again. He was in Company B of the 167th Ohio Regiment. His service was from 2 May 1864 to 8 September 1864. He turned 24 during that service.JoAnnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16725295327088235909noreply@blogger.com
