The place your folks rented looks just like our family's cottage. How neat! You make a great point about how people can have very different memories of the same event. A good reminder to seek out all the stories we can. I really enjoyed reading this post!Shelley Bishophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07488453243236670013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892358786681938797.post-70019908726090498092014-07-13T23:51:08.126-04:002014-07-13T23:51:08.126-04:00Thanks, Diane. It's interesting to me how sketchy my memories often are -- just the bare bones of an event, sometimes, and yet, as you say, they leave an impression.Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12136584654825212359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892358786681938797.post-89143821059101095752014-07-13T23:49:13.049-04:002014-07-13T23:49:13.049-04:00Thank you, Dorene.Thank you, Dorene.Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12136584654825212359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892358786681938797.post-51266848034698680222014-07-13T23:48:59.845-04:002014-07-13T23:48:59.845-04:00Ahh, yes, Wendy, it's wonderful when vacations...Ahh, yes, Wendy, it's wonderful when vacations have those little, out-of-the-ordinary surprises. I'm like you -- a roadside breakfast of fresh peaches sounds wonderful to me, like an adventure. Isn't that what vacation should be -- doing something out of the norm? Of course, I don't have a dramatic set of differing views like this one, but I remember visiting my cousins one summer and they took me into the woods to gather blackberries. Now that was fun -- something I had never done before, being a city girl. Several years ago, I mentioned that summer adventure to my cousin who promptly added (much like your mother), "Oh those woods were full of snakes."Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17863357756727783017noreply@blogger.com
