Our homes and the homes of our ancestors are so important and learning about them can a special aspect to our family history research, and most especially to record information about the ones that still exist that we've actually walked and around. (In my opinion, anyway.) Just today we drove by an old home my husband's great-grandparents lived in and it got me thinking of my homes growing up and how to describe them to my children. Great memories. Does everyone who's ever lived in a house (that became a home to them) leave a little something behind and the house adopts it into itself? So often people buy a home then update it and "remuddle" it to become something it was never intended to be. They say that home is where one's loved ones are but I find that the building is also a part of home for me.Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12136584654825212359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892358786681938797.post-30056753726012718812013-11-04T16:00:55.745-05:002013-11-04T16:00:55.745-05:00Thank you, Wendy. They had a 2 storey Victorian home. When I was 2 years old, we moved away and lived in a bungalow. Every time we went back to visit my grandparents, I always thought they were so rich to have such a grand house. I see it now from time to time when I go for a visit, there are different owners of course, but it doesn't look so rich, guess it was just in my childhood mind......Rosiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06015301472659256675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892358786681938797.post-24933695484390623002013-11-03T13:28:11.950-05:002013-11-03T13:28:11.950-05:00I did like the way you began your post in a dream ...I did like the way you began your post in a dream like stance, looking back on your family home - very evocative. .
