I Was Left Alone...

...with Ancestry's Pennsylvania Death Certificates this afternoon.  Look what I found.  What fun!  And I'm not finished yet.  (There is only one person among these death certificates who may or may not be part of my family.)

Thank you, Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission and Ancestry.com.  You've been very helpful today.

  1. Good golly -- I don't think I have that many in ALL my records. Have fun.

    1. Finding is fun, transcribing and sourcing are a little less so, but it's been fun, Wendy. I think death certificates and obituaries were some of the first resources I learned and I still use them when I can find them.

  2. I found things I did not know that I was not looking for. I put in my husbands great great grandparents and I found DC for his sisters. There was no way I would have found their married names without a lot of research. They were not even on my radar.

    1. Yes, Claudia, I am thrilled with the option to enter a parent's name and find all the certificates connected to it. It's really pretty amazing, I think! How else would we ever have found this information without digital indexes! Grateful, grateful me.
