This is just to say that tonight, at exactly 10:13 p.m., My Ancestors and Me will have been in existence for half a decade. Amazing!
Blogging has been a challenge, a joy, a frustration, a great learning experience, a lesson in determination, and a real pleasure. When I first began I wondered how I could possibly continue to research and write keep up a blog. Then I began to use blog posts as a way to sort research challenges and discuss ancestors and things went more smoothly.
Being involved in the GeneaBloggers community has helped me in more ways that I could have imagined when I began. I continue to learn from those who leave comments on this blog and from other bloggers' posts.
Thank you to every person who comes to read this little blog and
especially to those who leave comments. Without you it would be much
less satisfying.

Congratulations Nancy, 5 years is a true accomplishment - here's to many more!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dara.
DeleteWow -- 5 years! "Half a decade" sounds much longer though. Congratulations and keep on keeping on.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Wendy. I agree: I thought half a decade sounded longer, too.
DeleteCheers to you Nancy and congratulations on five wonderful years!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jennifer.
DeleteCongratulations on your 5th. How did you remember the time, did you write it down in a journal? Or, as I suspect you have phenomenal memory? I'm looking forward to another 5 years, so you make it a full decade.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Barbara. Blogger told me the time when I opened that first post. I guess, technically, the blog was started before then because I had to write the post, but it was fun to imagine knowing the exact time. (No phenomenal memory. I have to make notes about everything these days.)
DeleteI only relatively recently found your blog, but with Pennsylvania and Ohio resources, I had to start following! Happy Blogiversary!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Elizabeth. I continue to add sources to both pages as I find them. I hope you find some helpful resources.
DeleteHappy Blogiversary, Nancy! Your blog is one of my favorite reads and has inspired me more than once to research my Ohio and Pennsylvania lines. Here's to the next five years!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Leah. All the best for your Ohio and Pennsylvania research!
DeleteCongratulations on five years, Nancy! And best wishes for many more. I certainly agree about the GeneaBloggers community: it has brought about some wonderful associations.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jacqi.
DeleteCongratulations Nancy! Five years of blogging is amazing. Happy Blogiversary!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Michelle. I think I may be as amazed as anyone that I've persisted for so long. There's no turning back now.
DeleteCongratulations. Not just five years of blog posts, but five years of interesting and entertaining posts. I, for one, am looking forward to another five years.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Alan.
