Research Tip: Read Every Entry on the Page

When you search for an ancestor in court records where there are several entries on a page be sure to read all the entries on that page.  You never know who you will find.

I searched for and found Alma Mary Gerner's marriage recordnin the Mercer County Orphan's Court Marriage License Dockets.
Looking at the rest of the entries, I found Alma's sister Della Gerner's marriage record as the next entry.  I love it when that happens!

It's worth the extra minute to look at all the records on a page because you never know who you'll find.

  1. Yes - always a good idea. I often see the same witness for several marriages. And, like you, have found relatives elsewhere on the same page :)

    1. Thanks, Tess. That's a great idea to check for the same witnesses, too. We never know what we'll find!
