We welcome the newest descendant, a little grandson, into our family. His name is Isaac.
After too many hours of labor he was born this morning, January 10, 2016, at 5:56 a.m. He weighed 8# 3.7 ounces and was 21" long. He was born on his due date -- and on his sister's second birthday.
Isaac's name was chosen, or perhaps adopted, before he was born. I'm sure his older brother and sister heard his parents discuss names. Over Thanksgiving weekend when my daughter and her family were visiting, her 3-year-old son approached her and patted her belly. He turned to me and said, "Baby Isaac's in there." Surprised, I asked my daughter if they'd already chosen the name. "We're not sure yet." she said. I don't know how they chose his name but I suspect that big brother's use of "Isaac" encouraged its choice.
This is the first grandchild I haven't been able to hold within a day of birth. He'll get hugs, cuddles, and kisses when we visit next.
Welcome to earth and to our family, Baby Isaac. We're looking forward to meeting you.

Congratulations (to Natasha as well) on your newest grandchild! It is such a pleasure to be a grandma, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kathleen. Being a grandmother is wonderful. I just wish they lived a little closer so we could see them every week or so.
DeleteCongratulations! He looks near perfect to me. I am not getting any more Grands...but some great nieces and nephews are fun:)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Far Side. I suspect he is close to perfect but I haven't personally counted his toes yet. Can't wait to see him! Yes, great nieces and nephews are fun, too, but my husband and I see our much less frequently than we see our grandchildren.
DeleteAww! How wonderful! Congratulations on your newest grandchild!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jana. I can hardly wait to meet him!
DeleteCongratulations! My older daughter had her baby boy on Jan. 10 too! We are visiting now which is why I am behind in blog writing and reading.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Wendy. And congratulations to you and your daughter and her family. Will you post a photo? Don't we all love to see new babies?
